VILLES INVISIBLES

L'exposition rassemble des photographies analogiques à large spectre prises de Londres à Djeddah en passant par New York, Santiago et Dakar. Les images évoquées ici par l'artiste ne sont pas des signaux urbains avec lesquels nous sommes familiers, mais plutôt leur aspect caché, invisible et inconnu. Dans le travail de l’artiste, la ville prend la forme d’une fantasmagorie contemporaine : éclairée d’une lumière nocturne aux accents sensuels, elle révèle la tension persistante entre fascination esthétique et matérialité brute de l’espace urbain.

«The city that is in the process of turning into what it will once have been, the city that is being built, the city that keeps growing, the city that falls into ruins and undoes itself, the city that eliminates, excludes and evicts, the city that is being abandoned, that abandons itself and flees, that escapes towards another city or something other than a city, is also the city of photography, for it must still be staged.»
